Julie Laine currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Senior Deputy General Counsel for Comcast Cable. As the compliance leader for Comcast Cable, Julie is responsible for leading the company’s efforts for ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies in connection with Comcast Cable’s domestic and international businesses and establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations and company policies and procedures. 

Julie previously spent 13 years at Time Warner Cable Inc., most recently in the position of Group Vice President & Chief Counsel, Regulatory, where she oversaw a team responsible for all legal and regulatory matters relating to the company’s deployment of video, broadband, telephony, telecommunications, and wireless services. Julie was also previously Associate General Counsel at Net2Phone, an IP telephony company and also served as an Attorney Advisor in the Policy Division of the Federal Communications Commission’s Common Carrier Bureau, where she worked on issues relating to local telephone competition, the deployment of broadband services, and telecommunications mergers. Prior to joining the FCC, Julie practiced law at McDermott, Will & Emery in Washington, D.C. She began her law career as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. 

Julie previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the Seton Hall Law School, where she taught legal research and writing. She is a member of Women in Cable & Telecommunications and a graduate of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and sits on the Trustees Council of Penn Women and on the Board of Directors of the William & Mary Law School Foundation.
