Johannes Wirtz joined Comcast in 2011 and serves as Vice President and Senior Deputy General Counsel. He is responsible for legal matters related to strategic corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Johannes also spent six months on secondment in the London offices of Sky where he worked on strategic corporate transactions and facilitated the integration of Sky’s corporate legal function into the Comcast Corporate Legal group.
Prior to joining Comcast, Johannes was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, NY and at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Cologne, Germany. In those positions, he focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and investment fund formations. Johannes received a joint degree in French and German laws with high honors from the Université de Paris I / Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Universität zu Köln. He also received an LL.M. from Columbia Law School where he was named a James Kent Scholar.
Johannes lives in Radnor, PA with his wife and their daughter.
