Amy Smith is the Senior Vice President of Network Expansion & Smart Solutions. In this role, Smith is responsible for strategy and business processes to identify expansion opportunities, build business cases, maximize the potential to win government subsidies and ensure timely construction and activation of passings.
An accomplished executive with almost 30 years with Comcast, Smith most recently served as the Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast Cable’s Florida Region. Under her leadership, the Region ranked in the top three in the power rankings for multiple years, often holding the top spot with leading key performance indicators tied to Financials, Market Share Growth, Customer Experience, and Comcast Business. The exceptional performance earned the Florida Region the Circle of Success, Region of the Year recognition in 2018. Smith also led the Florida Region through multiple hurricanes with record recovery and restoration while partnering with teammates across the Central Division and headquarters to define the company's playbook for exceptional customer and employee experience during complete devastation.
Smith has also served as the Regional Senior Vice President for Pennsylvania's Freedom Region (Philadelphia/Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Northern Delaware) and Central Pennsylvania. Before that, she served as Area Vice President for Comcast systems in southern New Jersey. During her tenure, the company launched services including Comcast Digital Voice, digital cable, video on demand and HDTV. Before joining the Eastern Division in April 2000, Smith was General Manager for Comcast's system in Lake County, Florida. She joined the company in 1994 as a Business Manager in Charleston, South Carolina.
Prior to Comcast, Smith worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Staff Accountant and for TeleCable Corporation as a Financial Analyst.
Smith is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications. In the June 2013 "Cable's Top Power Players Issue," CableFAX: The Magazine ranked Smith number 5 on its Top Regionals list, noting that, "Smith has the unique challenge of managing a diverse customer base that demands all the latest bells and whistles…and [she] hasn't wasted any time giving customers what they want." In 2008, she was named one of the most powerful women in cable in CableFAX: The Magazine's annual list of top women executives.
Smith, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting.
