Chris McDonald is the Senior Vice President of External Affairs for Comcast Cable’s West Division in Denver, Colorado. In this role, Chris oversees all government affairs, public policy, local franchising, state legislative matters, external communications, and community investment for the six Comcast regions across the western United States.

Chris joined Comcast in 2005 as Director of State Government Affairs in Tallahassee, Florida.  In that position, he served as the company’s chief advocate on all public policy and regulatory matters before the Florida Legislature and Florida Public Service Commission.  In 2008, Chris moved to Atlanta to serve as Vice President of State Government Affairs for Comcast’s Central Division where he led a team responsible for the company’s policy positions and advocacy before legislative and executive branches for a twelve state area.  Most recently, he served as the Vice President of Government Affairs for the West Division, where he oversaw all government, regulatory, and franchise relations for the West Division states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. 

Prior to joining Comcast, Chris spent twelve years with AT&T Corporation.  In his tenure with AT&T, Chris held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Government Affairs for AT&T Florida.  In that position, Chris oversaw a team of government affairs professionals responsible for the company’s strategy and advocacy on all public policy matters in the Sunshine State. 

A native of Fayetteville, Georgia, Chris graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and History from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and earned his law degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.  He and his wife Meghan reside in Castle Rock, Colorado, with their two children.
