Comcast is on a mission to ensure students have what they need to be successful. Over the last decade, we’ve connected four million students from low-income families to low-cost, high speed Xfinity Internet through the nation’s largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption program. Now, we’re creating more than 1,000 “Lift Zones” in community centers to provide internet connectivity and a safe place for students and families to get online.
Commitment to Education
Our Progress
The need for digital equity is more important than ever. Comcast has connected more than 4 million students from low-income homes to low-cost, high-speed internet.
Connectivity is essential to students’ success as they learn from home. Over 90% of parents surveyed see a positive impact on grades.
An Internet connection is only as good as the device by which it is accessed. Comcast has provided low-income Americans with 135,000 computers.
Digital literacy is the most important facilitator of getting people connected. Comcast has invested nearly $700 million in digital literacy training and awareness.
