Today we’re excited to announce that we’ve opened registration for Scala by the Schuylkill, our one-day technical conference where people in the Scala community can share their experiences in a fun, information-packed event.

Registration is free and space is limited so if you’re planning to be in Philadelphia on January 24, 2017, we hope you’ll register by visiting our conference site.

We’ve been overwhelmed with awesome speaker submissions since we issued our call for papers in November and we’re thrilled that we’ve managed to pack 11 technical talks into the event, with topics including Scala Design Patterns in the GeoTrellis Framework, Realtime Web Services in Scala with Akka, and Building a Custom Query Engine with Quill, among many others. Check out the full schedule here.

The event will feature a keynote by Sree Kotay, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Comcast Cable.

We look forward to seeing you in January. And if you register, let us know by tweeting with the hashtag #scalabytheschuylkill.
