Sree Kotay is Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President for Comcast Cable. In this role, Sree develops and guides Comcast’s software and technology strategy. He has responsibility for the engineering & operations of the Company’s customer-facing products and services, and also oversees Comcast Innovation Labs – Comcast’s advanced research and development group – as well as security and software assurance practices across all aspects of product development.
Under Sree’s leadership, Comcast has completed major technology and product transformations, including the launch and scale of X1, new lines of business, voice services, and ongoing streamlining of the customer experience. This has come coupled with a significant infrastructure and culture shifts that have helped Comcast deliver product and service innovation faster than ever before.
Prior to joining Comcast in 2007, Sree served as AOL’s SVP of Technology. There he led desktop client software, Mail services, Instant Messaging, Publishing Technologies, Search Engineering, and Next Generation Back Office, and enabled the deployment of new AOL content services and products beyond AOL’s traditional ISP dial-up service. Before AOL, Sree was one of the founders, and CTO for Viewpoint Corporation, a public software company focusing on rich media advertising and advanced 2D/3D and motion graphics technology. Earlier in his career, he worked as Director of R&D for Metacreations/HSC Software, a "pro-sumer" digital arts tools software firm, and was the President and founder of Intrepid Systems, a high-end printing and publishing solutions company.
