Comcast’s MachineQ Receives 2023 IoT Business Impact Award from IoT Evolution

MachineQ, a Comcast Company, announced today that they received a 2023 IoT Business Impact Award from IoT Evolution magazine, the leading publication covering IoT technologies.
The award recognizes MachineQ’s temperature monitoring offering, which provides benefits to customers within numerous industries, including food services. It enables customers to automate repetitive temperature monitoring and logging processes required for food safety, which can help reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses, decrease food loss, and enable employees to focus on customers rather than performing manual temperature checks.
MachineQ's device-to-cloud solution uses the MQflex multi-sensor device and magnetic mounting bracket to automate temperature readings inside commercial refrigerators and freezers, overcoming the typical signal penetration and installation challenges in retail and food services environments. Leveraging LoRaWAN® technology, the MQflex was designed and built in-house by MachineQ teams for proven resiliency at every level of operation. The device’s signal penetrates the metal exterior of refrigerators for reliable data collection with an extended battery life. The purpose-built magnetic mounting bracket ensures installation with industrial strength magnets and a stainless-steel ball chain for reinforcement, reducing the risk of dislodgment from daily operations that could affect accurate temperature readings.
By automating routine temperature monitoring and logging tasks, staff in quick service restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants gain back valuable time to focus on higher value tasks.
