Updates on the Unfolding Events in Israel and the Middle East

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the conflict in Israel and the Middle East, our employees who have family and loved ones in the region and the journalists on the ground. We unequivocally condemn hate and violence as they have no place in our society.

Below is a message from Brian L. Roberts, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Corporation, and Mike Cavanagh, President of Comcast Corporation, that was shared with our employees across the company at Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky on October 10, regarding the unfolding events in Israel and the Middle East:

“We are horrified and deeply saddened by the brutal attack on Israel. Our hearts go out to the families who have lost their loved ones through unspeakable acts of terrorism and the devastation of war. As these catastrophic events unfold, we are so grateful for the tireless dedication and bravery of our NBC and Sky news colleagues who are on the ground risking their lives to shine a light on this terrible conflict.”

It is critically important that we help where we can make a difference. We have donated to support humanitarian relief efforts, are airing primetime specials on the conflict across our platforms and have made a curated news destination available to Xfinity customers.

Humanitarian Aid

On October 13, Comcast NBCUniversal committed $2 million to aid humanitarian relief efforts in the region. We immediately contributed $1.5 million to Save the Children Federation Inc., Doctors Without Borders, Direct Relief, and American Friends of Magen David Adom and we’ll also donate up to $500,000 for all employee donations made to these four organizations in addition to contributions already made through our existing Matching Gift Program.

NBC News Specials

NBC News will present two live, primetime specials – NBC News Special Report: Israel-Hamas War – on October 14 and 15, simulcasting across MSNBC, NBC News NOW, CNBC and NBC local news FAST streaming channels.

Xfinity News Destination

Comcast is helping customers stay informed on the latest developments through a curated news destination on Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex and Xumo devices. The destination includes quick access to live news coverage from major cable and streaming news networks, as well as links to the latest news clips on YouTube, including dedicated rows to BBC News and Sky News coverage. Just say “News about Israel” into your Voice Remote to access.
