Team USA at the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022
The Paralympic Winter Games are one of the biggest celebrations of inclusion in the world. And as all watched our incredible U.S. Paralympians parade into Paralympic Stadium at last week’s Opening Ceremony, I was struck by how lucky we all are to have the chance to celebrate the Paralympics and all that they inspire ... twice in just six months.
It’s an honor to be the company that brings that inspiration home to America. And fresh off of the record breaking Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 just this past summer, we’re thrilled to share the athletes’ stories of resilience and sportsmanship with the widest possible audience by once again delivering the most inclusive viewing experience ever of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
NBCUniversal will showcase 230+ hours of programming of the Winter Paralympics, including its first-ever Paralympic Winter Games primetime broadcasts and a record 120 hours of television coverage across NBC, Peacock, USA Network, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app. In addition to record programming, the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 will also feature unprecedented promotion and advertising support.
It’s our goal to bring that inspiration to the widest audience possible by delivering the most inclusive Olympic and Paralympic Games viewing experience ever.
NBC Olympics is providing more accessibility to its coverage of the Paralympic Winter Games than ever before, giving viewers the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of the Paralympic Winter Games with closed captioning, audio description, and digital content accessibility. For the first time ever, all of this coverage will be available to stream live on Peacock in addition to being available on all of across Comcast’s entertainment platforms: Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex, Xfinity Stream and XClass TV.
To easily access the action, customers can simply say “Paralympics” into their voice remote to access a dedicated Paralympics destination. To turn on Closed Captioning or Audio Description on X1, simply say “Closed Captions” or “Audio Description” into the voice remote, or “Accessibility” on Flex. Or, press the “B” Key on the remote to activate the accessibility settings. Accessing Closed Captioning and Audio Description on Xfinity Stream varies by platform. You can find additional details here.
I hope you’ll join me in celebrating our U.S Paralympians as they compete to achieve their dreams. Because witnessing greatness inspires more greatness – and we can’t wait to bring every heart stopping moment of athleticism and humanity home to the Team of Tomorrow.
