Philadelphia Flyers Release First-Ever Community Impact Report Detailing Commitment to Local Communities

Today, the Philadelphia Flyers released the first annual Community Impact Report, highlighting the incredible work from the Flyers organization and Flyers Charities to support local communities over the last year.

Amid public health and economic crises, the Flyers were more engaged in the community than ever. Over the last year, the Flyers and Flyers Charities:

• Awarded a half-million dollars in advertising assets to local businesses who were struggling to stay afloat during the pandemic;
• Donated $250,000 to Philabundance to help fight hunger in Philadelphia;
• Became the first NHL team and the first professional sports team in Pennsylvania to launch a wide-ranging vaccination campaign in coordination with Penn Medicine and the COVID-19 Black Doctors Consortium;
• Supported frontline workers with more than 2,000 meals, resources, and more;
• Rallied Flyers fans to raise $50,000 for a cancer research grant in honor of Oskar Lindblom – that research is now being conducted at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia;
• Launched a new youth ball hockey program to introduce hockey to kids throughout the region to the sport;
• And much more.
