Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, January 13, according to Nielsen Media Research data, marking its eighth straight week at #1.

Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Sens. Ted Cruz and Tim Kaine. Michael Schmidt and Benjamin Wittes also joined the program to discuss the New York Times’ report on the FBI and President Donald Trump.

MTP was the only Sunday show to deliver more than four million total viewers, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 4.197 million total viewers tuned in to the Sunday program: +26 percent (+868,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +11 percent (+423,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks the broadcast’s 30th straight win over ABC and eighth straight win over CBS in total viewers. MTP delivered its biggest total viewership in over a year (since January 7, 2018). MTP’s total viewer leads over ABC and CBS reached four-month highs (since August 19, 2018 vs. ABC, since August 12, 2018 vs. CBS). Compared to last Sunday, MTP delivered its biggest gain of total viewership and was up +12 percent (+443,000) and increased its advantages over both ABC (17 percent higher) and CBS (68 percent higher). Compared to last year, MTP was up five percent (+213,000) and increased its advantage over ABC by +86 percent.

MTP was also the only Sunday public affairs program to deliver more than one million demo viewers and the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its 50th straight broadcast, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 1.118 million A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +31 percent (+265,000) more than ABC and +42 percent (+332,000) more than CBS. This is the broadcast’s best streak in over 18 years (since October 15, 2000). This marks MTP’s biggest A25-54 viewership since February 25, 2018 and its widest demo lead over CBS in over eight months (since April 22, 2018). Compared to last week, MTP added the most A25-54 viewers among the Sunday shows (+177,000, +19 percent), increased its lead over ABC by +11 percent, and widened its advantage over CBS by +81 percent. Compared to last year, MTP saw the biggest A25-54 gain (+83,000, eight percent) and improved its advantages over both ABC (more than 3X higher) and CBS (almost 11X higher).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in six years and CBS in eight years.

Averaging 220,000 total viewers in the Washington, D.C. market, MTP posted its biggest total viewership in over 10 years (since 10/29/2008) and beat the competition combined among total viewers. MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.008 million total viewers and 231,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
