'1917,' 'Harriet' Lead NBCUniversal Film Studios’ Oscar Nominations
Nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards were announced Jan. 13 and once again the motion picture studios of NBCUniversal are well represented.
Universal Pictures’ ‘1917’ collected 10 Oscar nominations, including ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Achievement in Directing.’ The nominations add to a growing list of accolades for the sweeping World War I epic, which also took home Golden Globes for ‘Best Motion Picture - Drama’ and ’Best Director’ in the motion picture category for director Sam Mendes, who also co-wrote and produced the film.
Cynthia Erivo is nominated for ‘Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role’ for her critically acclaimed work in Focus Features’ ‘Harriet,’ which is also nominated for ‘Achievement in Music.’
