Workshop Aims to Unlock the Dynamic Tools of Future Leaders
The Black Professional Alliance at Comcast (BPA@Comcast) Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Wharton’s African-American MBA Association hosted Introverts as Leaders, a professional development workshop on June 27, 2014, with more than 60 businessmen and women, students, interns, and CEOs in attendance.
Robyn McLeod of Chatsworth Consulting Group facilitated the workshop and helped attendees identify if they were introverts and how it can impact workplace dynamics. Robyn focused on the introvert skills that are overlooked in the workplace, how to use them to their advantage, and advance their careers.
Topics of discussion included "Preparing to Network, Increasing My Visibility, Shifting My Mindset" and "Seeking Support."
"When we think about leaders, we don’t associate them with introverts," said Olakunle Ekundare, lead of the BPA@Comcast. "This is an opportunity to highlight some of the traits and give professionals the best [tools] to leverage in their daily work that will allow them to be leaders or help them work better with people who are extroverts."
