Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's worldwide blockbuster, Despicable Me, delighted audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. On July 3, 'minion madness' returned in Despicable Me 2, earning $82.5 million over the opening weekend, $142.1 million across the five-day holiday window and over $400 million at the worldwide box spanning its first two weeks.
