When NBC acquired Telemundo in 2002 it became the only major broadcast network with a business devoted to developing and airing programming created for the Spanish-speaking market. A decade later, Telemundo Media, a division of NBCUniversal, has become the largest producer of Spanish-language primetime content in the United States and the second-largest distributor of Spanish-language content in the world.
