Washington, D.C.

CHCI and Comcast Unveil Bilingual PSA Campaign -- Reaching More Than 23 Million Homes

Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation's premier Hispanic youth leadership development and educational organization, in partnership with Comcast Corporation, the nation's leading provider of media and entertainment services, announced the launch of "Our Youth, Our Future, Our Legacy," the first-ever bilingual Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign with an online streaming video component that features 17 Hispanic members of Congress.

CHCI and Comcast collaborated on this PSA campaign, one element of a larger partnership to educate Hispanic students and families on the opportunities available through CHCI's nationally recognized Public Policy Fellowship, Congressional Internship, and Scholarship Awards opportunities in Washington, D.C. The campaign specifically highlights the Hispanic business and education contributions made throughout the country.

"This is the first step in a creative 'out-of-the-box' national Hispanic education outreach and awareness campaign," said CHCI President and CEO, Esther Aguilera. "Since 1978, CHCI has led the way in empowering young Hispanics -- as they begin their careers -- to assume leadership roles in State, Local, Federal Government, and Corporate America."

David L. Cohen, executive vice president of Comcast, said, "Our partnership with CHCI reflects our continued commitment to diversity and the Hispanic community in particular. We are pleased to create this public outreach program with CHCI and will continue to collaborate on creative projects to provide opportunities for success for the Hispanic community."

Susan Gonzales, senior director at Comcast, added, "This unique PSA campaign encourages Hispanic youth to seek opportunities to prepare them as our future leaders. We are proud to present this campaign to the community."

The PSAs will air September 15 - October 15 in all Comcast markets throughout the country, reaching more than 23 million homes and the Spanish-language versions will be available via streaming video on Comcast Latino, Comcast's Spanish-language portal at http://www.comcast.net. The campaign will also air in Time Warner markets in California and Texas from November 15 - December 15.
