NBCUniversal Appoints Marlene Sanchez Dooner to Executive Vice President, Hispanic Enterprises & Content

NBCUniversal today announced the appointment of Comcast executive Marlene Sanchez Dooner to Executive Vice President, Hispanic Enterprises & Content (HEC). Dooner will report to Joe Uva, Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises & Content, NBCUniversal.  She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations at Comcast Corporation and will transition to NBCUniversal in New York at the end of this year.

In this newly created position, Dooner will work closely with Uva to develop the company’s initiatives and new business opportunities in the Hispanic marketplace across NBCUniversal’s networks and platforms. Additionally, she will oversee financial planning, strategic initiatives and business development for the company’s Hispanic franchises, including Telemundo and mun2.

Dooner joined Comcast Corporation in 1995 and for the past 18 years has led the company’s Investor Relations function, overseeing its relationships with the investment community and shareholders as it has transformed into a Fortune 50 global media and technology company. Dooner has strategically repositioned Comcast to the financial community during and after the company's landmark 2002 acquisition of AT&T Broadband which increased the size of Comcast Cable's customer base from 8.5 million to nearly 22 million and through the growth of new businesses like High-Speed Internet, Voice and Business Services.  More recently, Dooner led financial communications during Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal. Prior to joining Comcast, Dooner was a Vice President at PNC Bank’s Communications Lending Group and spent 12 years at the company.

Comcast said it will be initiating a national search for a head of Investor Relations in the coming weeks.

Dooner earned a B.A. in Economics from St. Joseph’s University and an M.S. in Finance from Drexel University. Dooner serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph’s University.
