NBC’s 'Meet The Press' Trumps the Sunday Morning Competition With Ratings Win

MTP delivers biggest total viewer win over CBS’s Face the Nation half-hour since August 2012, tops ABC’s This Week in total viewers for 4th consecutive week in demo and marks 10th consecutive win over Face the Nation half-hour.
Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was No. 1 across the board on August 16, delivering its biggest total viewer audience since February 9, 2014 and biggest A25-54 demo audience since March 1 of this year. The program featured a Sunday exclusive interview with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and an interview with Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.
MTP averaged 3.612 million total viewers, +739,000 more than ABC’s This Week, +775,000 more than CBS’s Face the Nation half-hour, and +1.197 million more than CBS’s Face the Nation hour. This marks MTP’s biggest total viewer win over the CBS half-hour since August 12, 2012 and best over ABC since February 22, 2015.
With 1.005 million viewers in the A25-54 demo, MTP topped ABC’s This Week by +232,000 viewers, CBS’s Face the Nation half-hour by +205,000 viewers, and CBS’s Face the Nation full-hour by +323,000 viewers. This marks MTP’s biggest demo win over the CBS half-hour since June 28, 2015, and best over ABC since June 22, 2014.
MTP’s momentum scored double-digit gains across all key categories year-over-year: +36 percent in total viewers, +37 percent in A25-54, and +40 percent in A18-49.
In the influential Washington, D.C. market, MTP continued its dominance with a three-digit advantage against the competition in total viewers.
MTP delivered an additional 1.016 million total viewers and 439,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts on the NBC network and on MSNBC.
