NBC Nightly News: 200 Weeks as America's Most-Watched Evening News

NBC Nightly News also posted its best deliveries and advantages over ABC’s World News in total viewers, adults 25-54 and women 25-54 ratings in four weeks.

With the week ending July 12, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams marked its 200th consecutive week as America’s most-watched network evening newscast, according to Nielsen Media Research data. Nightly also delivered 7.838 million total viewers, more than 14 percent more than ABC World NewsNightly has won in total viewers for 200 consecutive weeks and in 247 of the past 248 weeks. Season-to-date, Nightly leads World News by over 784,000 total viewers and by over 306,000 adult 25-54 viewers.

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams provides reports and analysis of the day’s most newsworthy national and international events. The early evening newscast inaugurated its current format Aug. 1, 1970, when The Huntley-Brinkley Report was expanded to seven nights a week.
