NBC News Wins Two Edward R. Murrow Awards
NBC News Specials was honored for breaking news coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. In the chaotic minutes, hours, and days following the two explosions near the marathon’s finish line, NBC News produced more than two dozen special reports, providing comprehensive coverage and extended programming on television and online.
Dateline was honored for best Use of Video for "Into the Death Zone," the story of three climbers and their attempts to conquer Mt. Everest during the 2012 climbing season. Told through first-person accounts from video shot by the climbers themselves, stunning images illustrate the beauty and dangers of trying to reach the Roof of the World.
