NBC News' Award Winning Parent Toolkit Site Launches New App
NBC News today launched a new app for its Parent Toolkit website, a one-stop online resource for parents navigating their children’s development in the classroom and beyond. The Parent Toolkit App, produced by NBC News’ Education Nation and sponsored by Pearson, is available in English and Spanish on iOS and Android devices. Using the app, parents can access the Toolkit’s academic benchmarks and health and wellness tips on-the-go with additional opportunities to customize content they find most relevant. To download the free Parent Toolkit App, visit ParentToolkit.com/App or text TOOLKIT4 to 33733.
The Parent Toolkit App offers a seamless user-led experience to help parents find and organize information that aligns with their child’s academic progress from Pre-K through 12th grade. Users can share tips on social networks, create family profiles, and mark items as priorities.
The Parent Toolkit website was first unveiled in October 2013 and features education benchmarks and tips focused on math, English language arts, and health and wellness. A Social & Emotional Development section will launch later this year. The Parent Toolkit is the winner of the 2014 Webby Award in the Family/Parenting category and AAPC’s 2014 Silver Pollie Award for Best Website in the Public Affairs Division.
