Helping Latino Families Achieve the American Dream

Comcast works closely with National Council of La Raza to help address the needs of Hispanic communities across the country.

National Council of La Raza (NCLR) is the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States. Through its 300 local affiliates, NCLR works to improve lives in Hispanic communities with direct service, resources and assistance.

Comcast has partnered with NCLR since 2006, and the organization helps us execute our diversity strategy in our community investment, supplier diversity, programming and employment efforts. In turn, NCLR supports our digital literacy initiatives and partners with us on Comcast Cares Day. In 2011, NCLR joined us at five sites and provided nearly $10,000 in matching grants.

Comcast provides NCLR with cash and in-kind contributions to supports the organization’s priorities. In 2011, Comcast ran more than 200,000 public service announcements for a value of $3 million. Comcast also sponsored and broadcast the ALMA Awards, an NCLR production. The Comcast Foundation also underwrites a development program for local NCLR affiliates.Â
