Ken Klaer Joins Comcast as Senior Vice President, Premises Technology

Comcast announced today that Ken Klaer has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Premises Technology, leading the team that develops innovative CPE devices used to deliver Comcast’s video, voice, data and cross-platform applications in customers’ homes. He reports to Sree Kotay, Senior Vice President, Chief Software Architect for Comcast.

"Ken brings more than 20 years of hardware and software experience to this role and is joining Comcast at an exciting and ambitious time as we step up our device ambitions in 2014, particularly with our X1 entertainment operating system," said Mr. Kotay. "I’m delighted Ken will be leading our technology strategies while working closely with our Product Development and Product Engineering teams to help bring innovative features and services to our customers faster than ever."

Mr. Klaer comes to Comcast from Cisco Systems, where he most recently was part of their Service Provider Video Technology Group, overseeing the development and execution of product strategies and global go-to-market models for consumer premise equipment.  Prior to that he held key senior management roles in general management, business development, product services management and production control at Scientific Atlanta, which was acquired by Cisco. 

Mr. Klaer earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a designated APCS Certified Production & Inventory Control Manager (CPIM).  He and his wife will be relocating to the Philadelphia area.
