Fandango To Launch Movie Discovery And Ticketing Bot For Facebook Messenger
San Francisco, CA
Fandango Bot for Messenger will provide consumers a resource for movie information and direct access to Fandango Ticketing through Facebook.
Fandango, the nation’s leading digital network for all things movies, is developing a Fandango bot for Facebook Messenger to provide fans quick and easy access to movie information, trailers, show times, theater locations and a link to advance ticketing for all theatrical releases on Fandango from their mobile devices. The Fandango bot was introduced today at F8, Facebook’s annual global developer conference in San Francisco, with plans to launch in May, just in time for the start of summer movie season.
"We are thrilled to be the go-to moviegoer resource and ticketer on Facebook Messenger, where we can serve millions of entertainment fans on this exciting new platform," said Paul Yanover, Fandango President. "The Fandango bot on Messenger will act like a personal concierge, helping fans instantly discover movies and nearby theaters, and for the first time, connect to all Fandango show times and ticketing through Facebook."
The Fandango bot for Messenger will provide easy-to-use prompts for moviegoers to quickly locate nearby theaters and the movies playing at those theaters, along with trailers, film synopses, ratings, running times, and direct access to advance ticketing on Fandango.
Fandango has more than 2 million followers across multiple destinations on Facebook, as well as a number of channels on Facebook Notify, where it provides movie news, the latest trailers and movie clips, original video and fan art, as well as ticketing offers and promotions. Fandango has also been an early adopter of Facebook Live, offering exclusive video for the platform as well as featuring its popular movie commentators, reporting news and conducting celebrity interviews from film festivals and industry events.
