Comcast to Offer President Obama's First State of The Union Address and Republican Response On Demand

Comcast announced it will deliver a unique and in-depth package of news and information leading up to, and covering, the State of the Union Address, which is scheduled to air tonight at 9:00 pm EST. President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican response to the President's address, to be given by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, will be available On Demand starting Thursday, January 28.

"News junkies and politicos alike can relive historic events from the past year, learn more about today's issues and get the latest State of the Union news in one place," said Derek Harrar, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Video and Entertainment Services for Comcast.  "We continue to deliver the most relevant current events On Demand to give consumers an opportunity to watch important issues and events on their schedule."

Viewers will be able to watch pundits and get the latest commentary on President Obama's State of the Union Address throughout the day and the following day through the major national cable news networks - CNBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, FOX News and MSNBC - available on Comcast's channel line-up.

On Demand provides a convenient place for the whole family to watch the State of the Union Address and the Republican response to the President's Address as well as learn more about today's current events and issues.  Beginning today, special content from Bloomberg TV that highlights a variety of topical issues, many of President Obama's speeches from his first year in office and his biography will also be available On Demand. This On Demand offering can be found under "Top Picks" > "Obama: Year One."

Comcast's 2009 State of the Union On Demand offering is aimed at keeping viewers informed about current events and follows past offerings that include: the 2008 Republican National Convention, 2008 Democratic National Convention, 2008 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates, 2004 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates, President Gerald R.
