Comcast President Brian L. Roberts Honored for Commitment to Diversity

The Walter Kaitz Foundation is honored to announce that Brian L. Roberts, President, Comcast Corporation will be the 2001 Dinner Honoree.

"Brian is a true leader in every respect-from his commitment to his employees to his personal dedication to a better community," stated Art Torres, President of the Walter Kaitz Foundation. "The Foundation is honored to salute an exemplary individual and friend."

Mr. Roberts has been a key supporter of the Foundation from its inception in 1983 and a consistent advocate of diversity in the cable industry. Under his leadership Comcast has created programs such as Comcast University, Comcast's employee training and career center; Leadership Comcast, which identifies and motivates candidates for senior management and executive positions. Mr. Roberts also assisted in the creation of the Kaitz Professional Development Program, which develops the cable/broadband industry's future diverse leaders. Comcast also supports multiple community projects using its resources and communications technologies such as cable modems to improve educational opportunities for all.

Mr. Roberts has been President of Comcast Corporation since 1990 and has held leadership positions in the cable industry that include the chairmanship of NCTA (1995-96), continuing membership on NCTA's Board and Executive Committees, the chairmanship of CableLabs (1999-2001) and a board member for the Kaitz Foundation (1989-95).

Mr. Roberts will be recognized at the 18th Walter Kaitz Foundation Annual Fundraising Dinner on September 13, 2001 at the New York Hilton and Towers.
