Comcast Brings New Independent Programming to Viewers

Earlier this year, Comcast announced the selection of four new minority-owned independent networks to be broadly distributed on Comcast Cable systems.

Through this commitment, Comcast will bring the creative talent and concepts of NBA Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson, superstar entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs, legendary Hollywood director Robert Rodriguez and Spanish-language TV veteran Constantino "Said" Schwarz, to tens of millions of American homes.

ASPiRE, led by Magic Johnson, launched in the summer of 2012 and celebrates the successes, achievements and accomplishments of the African American community through film, documentaries, music and comedies. Also launched this year, Constantino Schwarz’s network, BabyFirst Americas, was designed for infants, young children and their parents with a specific focus on early childhood development.

In 2013 viewers will be treated to a brand new concept from Sean "Diddy" Combs and MTV veteran Andy Schuon. The network, REVOLT, will be a platform for artists to reach fans in a unique new way through music, pop culture and social media. Comcast will also launch El Rey, a concept from Robert Rodriguez with John Fogelman and Cristina Patway from FactoryMade Ventures, in 2014. El Rey will be an action-packed general entertainment network for Latino and general audiences.
