Comcast and NBCUniversal Accept Top Award for LGBT Inclusion

The Human Rights Campaign recognizes Comcast and NBCUniversal as an employer of choice for the LGBT community.

On April 1, 2014, Comcast and NBCUniversal attended the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) LGBT Workplace Equality Awards Seminar and Reception. For the second consecutive year, Comcast and NBCUniversal were proud to receive an award for scoring 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2014 Corporate Equality Index.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) recognized Comcast and NBCUniversal as a "best place to work" for the LGBT community citing our LGBT inclusive corporate culture, employee benefits, workforce engagement, community investments and commitment to LGBT programming.

Cecilia Isaacs-Blundin, Director of Diversity Communications and OUT@Comcast Employee Resource Group Co-Lead was in attendance and accepted the award on behalf of Comcast.  "I am proud to work for a company that understands the business case for diversity and inclusion.  It's an honor to be recognized with a 100% rating on HRC's CEI as we strive to become best-in-class for LGBT inclusion among our employees, customers, and community," said Cecilia.

We celebrate our award and perfect HRC score with members of our Comcast and NBCUniversal LGBT Employee Resource Groups, OUT@Comcast and Out@NBCUNiversal, who provided important guidance on the following initiatives:

  • Same Sex and Transgender Inclusive Benefits

  • Launch of our LGBT Voluntary Self-Identification Survey

  • Launch of our LGBT Xfinity Programming Portal, Xfinity.com/LGBT

  • OUT@Comcast’s 2013 Comcast Cares Day project at The William Way LGBT Community Center

  • Comcast and NBCUniversal Company-Wide Participation in #SpiritDay
