Buddy Comedies Deliver at the Box for Universal Pictures and Focus Features

Universal Pictures' Ride Along maintained the top spot at the weekend box office for a third week in a row, pushed by the newly released Focus Features comedy That Awkward Moment, which finished third.

Ride Along pulled in $12.3 million, according to early returns, while That Awkward Moment grossed just over $9 million in its opening weekend. Universal Pictures' Lone Survivor, in its sixth week, drew $7.2 million and finished fifth, closing out a strong opening month of 2014 for the studio.

Ride Along and Lone Survivor, which benefited from wider release across U.S. theaters this weekend, have grossed $92 million and $104 million, respectively.
