A Look Inside the Film Adaptation of a Runaway Bestseller

The Girl on the Train, based on Paula Hawkin's best-selling debut novel, will be released by Universal Pictures. The film hits theaters everywhere Oct. 7.

In the thriller, Rachel (Emily Blunt), who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds. The film stars Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Edgar Ramirez, Lisa Kudrow and Laura Prepon. It is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, Get on Up) and produced by Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies, Into the Woods).
