Brian Roberts demoed the Xfinity Remote prototype yesterday at the Cable Show.

Here’s a look at some of the reaction to the demo from around the web:

  • Engadget’s Richard Lawler is looking forward to using the Xfinity Remote to help organize some Real Housewives of New York viewing parties (I’m more of a Real Housewives of New Jersey fan myself, but to each his own).

  • Gizmodo’s Kyle VanHemert’s thinks that ‘Flicking through an interactive channel guide without taking up precious TV real estate’ is cool.

  • ZDNet’s Sean Portnoy may never get out of bed again once the Xfinity Remote has been released (though how will he get himself a delicious beverage and snack to enjoy as he watches tv?).
  • Staci Kramer at paidContent promises not to rave about yet another app, but thinks the Xfinity Remote has the potential to change the way people watch TV.
  • Music writer Bob Lefsets declares "You’ve now got a reason to buy an iPad."
