X1 Gets in the Race: New Content Collections for Political Junkies
Comcast has loaded its X1 platform with hundreds of hours of past and present election content as the presidential race kicks into high gear with the national political conventions beginning this week. As the Republican National Convention (RNC) begins in Cleveland today and with the Democratic National Convention (DNC) next week in Philadelphia, political junkies can see up-to-the minute content as well has historic speeches dating back over half a century.
The RNC and DNC collections within X1’s on demand news Election Central section give viewers one place to enjoy convention speeches, Town Hall sessions, debates and more. The content is curated from NBC News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, CNN, Fox News, PBS, MTV, Comedy Central and more. There’s also short-form web video from Watchable like "Dating Debate – Mixing Politics, Views & Romance."
Every presidential candidate acceptance speech dating back to 1948 is available. Viewers can watch then-Senator Barack Obama accept the presidential nomination during the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and next flip over to a clip of Ronald Reagan accepting the 1980 presidential nomination in Detroit and back to Thomas Dewey and Harry Truman from 1948. Or they can re-watch speeches from Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and other convention presenters right after they air live.
The Republican National Convention runs from July 18 to July 21th.
