Christmas is just around the corner, and if you’re anything like me that means you’re scrambling to get your last minute shopping done. Take a break from the mall and check out the 2,000 games we have for download at the new video game section of Comcast.net. I haven’t been this excited about new games since I first played Myst back in ‘93 (I spend hundreds of hours of my life unlocking levels in that game… the Rocket Ship with the piano was a particular challenge to me).

If you’re looking for a good deal you have to check out The 24 Days of Holiday Download Deal for some fantastic games at even better prices. If you’re not bargain hunting, but are in need of some recommendations, here are some games I’ve been enjoying:

  • Attention: Nancy Drew mystery buffs! My sister read every book when she was 13 and is having a blast playing games like Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull and Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy with her kids.
  • Are you into sports? Love the Fightin’ Phils? Lead them to victory in Baseball Mogul 2008.
  • Gotta need for speed? Try driving the big rigs in 18 Wheels of Steel: Pedal to the Metal. If you’re not ready for something quite so large try it in an urban setting with Big City Rigs: Bus Driver or a rural setting with John Deere: Drive Green.
  • For TV and movie fans, try your hand at: Law & Order: Justice is Served , CSI: New York , Iron Man and The Lord of The Rings: Conquest.

If I didn’t recommend something that speaks to you, it probably just means I haven’t gotten a chance to play it yet.

Visit us, try a game, have a little fun! Because really, what else do you have to do?
