New This Month On X1: Improvements That Simplify The User Experience
Since our last update, we’ve taken time to focus on improving X1 by enhancing features and functionality across the platform that will ensure our customers have the most reliable and enjoyable entertainment experience. While many of these enhancements aren’t things you’ll see outright, you may notice some features working more seamlessly; for example the "Recently Watched" feature, which displays a menu of the latest nine programs you’ve watched, is now a lot faster and more responsive.
In addition to these performance updates, we are excited to announce some notable new features to the platform:
Sports Guide Enhancements
As part of our on-going work to make Sports awesome on X1, we redesigned the Sports Guide View to make browsing and discovering sports programming easier than ever:
We’ve added a "Browse By Sport" row, which allows users to view upcoming live programming categorized by their favorite sport.
A new "Events On Tonight" row displays primetime sports programming between 7PM and 10PM.
We’re also making it simpler to access all available programming related to your favorite teams by including more direct links to team pages throughout the guide.
Lastly, we’ve added Live/Replay Indicators within the traditional guide search, which allows users to easily tune into their game live or start it over right from the guide view.
Voice Improvements
We’ve spruced up the user interface for voice control interactions via X1 Remote app. On-screen notifications displayed during voice commands have a new design that includes a blue mic icon, the universal symbol of voice control on X1.
Remote Control Battery Notification
The new Low Battery Notification informs users when to change their remote control battery. Displayed on first use of remote after a reboot, this feature notifies users of a critically low battery level, prompting users to change the batteries before it stops controlling their TV.
