I'm proud to congratulate a deserving member of my team, Kavita Vazirani, on being recognized with the 2012 OCA Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Award.

OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the political, social, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans, honored Kavita with the award, which celebrates and recognizes Asian Pacific Americans in the corporate sector who exemplify not only excellence in their profession, but also leadership and commitment in their respective communities, and to the existing corporate culture of diversity, during a ceremony last week.

As Vice President of Media Strategy for Comcast, Kavita oversees our company's media services including our paid advertising and our owned cross-channel inventory. She shapes Comcast's engagement with broadcast station groups, individual local market stations, Hispanic stations and key cable networks.

It's also worth noting that Kavita is a leading example of how diversity and inclusion practices work to benefit our business. She is a leader who strategically and consistently welcomes different schools of thought, backgrounds, and experiences to develop new and innovative ideas.

A 14-year Comcast veteran, Kavita has transformed Comcast Cable's media profile by increasing our use of interactive media, and by helping to centralize media planning for Comcast's 20+ regions. Kavita also implemented our company's first upfront media buying strategy, driving significant cost savings and improved media effectiveness. After Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal, Kavita helped reshape the company's relationship with various media agencies, including agencies owned and operated by diverse groups.

Kavita is extremely active in her local community and is involved with several local and regional charitable and community organizations.

Kavita is the third Comcast award recipient of OCA Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Award. Johnnie Giles, Executive Director, Comcast External Affairs, was the 2011 award recipient and Susan Jin-Davis, Vice President for Comcast Strategic Services was an honoree in 2009.

Congratulations to Kavita for this well-deserved recognition.
