Celebrating National Entrepreneurship Month with 10 Ways to Connect
November is officially National Entrepreneurship Month, an occasion that recognizes the dreams and determination of entrepreneurs bringing their visions to life.
We’re especially excited to celebrate here at Comcast NBCUniversal. It was just over 50 years ago that Comcast itself was a determined startup. Bold ideas and entrepreneurship remain a core part of our DNA, and we’re proud to commend the innovators, inventors and founders building businesses toward a better future.
Comcast is celebrating the month-long event by sharing the stories and successes of entrepreneurs we have met from across the country. We’re grateful for the partnerships we’ve formed, and we’re excited to continue supporting and building relationships with startup founders.
And the best place to start is right here. Check out these 10 ways Comcast NBCUniversal supports entrepreneurs.
1. Need a starting point?
ComcastPartner.com is the place to sign up for our mailing list, keep up with our events and learn about emerging trends and businesses. It’s the central hub for all things entrepreneurial at Comcast NBCUniversal.
2. Building something big?
Big projects demand big resources. Comcast Ventures specializes in spotting industry-shifting ideas and helping make them profitable, scalable, and yes -- big. We’ve used our vast array of relationships, resources, access and expertise to help companies like Docusign and Dollar Shave Club. In addition to providing connections across Comcast NBCUniversal, we can help you access Genacast Ventures’ seed fund opportunities as well as the Catalyst Fund, an early-stage investor in minority-led companies.
3. Need support to get to the next level?
Whether you need fast and reliable Internet, phone or TV services, Comcast Business can help you get the connections you need to get your business going. We can even help you choose business apps and set up cloud services. And we’ve partnered with powerful coworking spaces and incubators like the University City Science Center, the Pennovation Center and the Microsoft Technology Center in Philadelphia to provide high-performance, low-cost services for all your startup needs.
4. Have a business idea?
From testing groundbreaking apps to crafting unforgettable stories for film, TV and theme parks, we’re always seeking partners whose visions align with our own goals. Reach out to our Strategic Development team, NBCUniversal Media Labs or Comcast Labs to learn where your startup can get plugged in.
5. Need advice?
The Tomorrow Team is our expert group of networkers and connectors who are plugged into their local startup communities across the country. They’re available to attend events, hold office hours, serve on panels, visit coworking spaces and help you get connected to the right people within Comcast NBCUniversal.
6. Want a tech partner for a business, civic, university or community project?
We’re always looking to build relationships in local neighborhoods and communities. Check out EveryBlock and connect with our NBCUniversal Media Labs and Comcast Labs teams to learn ways we can play a part in your project.
7. Looking for new customers?
The Comcast Media 360 team works with brands to design and deliver media campaigns across a full spectrum of media platforms, accessed by billions of visitors every month.
8. Want to join an awesome team?
We have incredible opportunities to join our teams across Philadelphia, New York City, Denver, Silicon Valley, Seattle, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Check for open positions near you to see how you could gain experience working at a global technology and media company.
9. Want tips or faster tech?
In addition to powering small businesses and coworking spaces across the country, we created the Comcast Business Community to provide helpful information for entrepreneurs. Our extensive network of executives and experts regularly contribute best practices, advice and insights for getting your business off the ground.
10. Want to innovate?
We do, too. Located right next to the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, our new 60-story Comcast Technology Center is set to open in 2018. The new state-of-the-art facility will host space specifically for entrepreneurs, including a startup accelerator and resource center.
