The Xfinity TV app for Android devices has been giving the Android community greater flexibility in how they experience entertainment. Customers are now using their Android-powered devices as virtual remote controls; searching for what they want to watch, programming their DVRs and even changing the channel on their TVs.
We've been working to bring the Android community more functionality with our services and today I'm pleased to announce a new addition to the Xfinity TV Android experience with the Xfinity TV Player app. The Xfinity TV Player app brings the much-anticipated On Demand video streaming service to our Xfinity TV digital customers with Android devices (versions 2.3/Gingerbread and above). With Xfinity TV Player, these customers can now access nearly 10,000 hours of On Demand video content directly from their Android-powered smartphones and tablets. It's all available over either a 3G, 4G or WiFi connection — so customers can watch their favorite On Demand TV shows and movies wherever they go in one simple app.
The Xfinity TV Player app is a separate download from the existing Xfinity TV app that is already available on Android devices. Both apps are available at no additional charge to Xfinity TV digital customers.
