The Comcast Holiday Spectacular Reaches 2 Million Visitors

Philadelphia’s Must-See Holiday Tradition Celebrates Its Two Millionth Visitor

Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the Comcast Center lobby is filled with sights and sounds of the holidays, as people of all ages gather at the top of each hour to enjoy a special performance of “The Nutcracker” by the renowned Pennsylvania Ballet, as well as scenes featuring “Carol of the Bells,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”  These performances are all a part of The Comcast Holiday Spectacular, which has become a must-see holiday tradition in Philadelphia since its 2008 debut.

When the show was unveiled, the dream was to create a unique and free holiday experience that captured the wonderful spirit of the holidays for members of the Greater Philadelphia community, local families, and visitors to enjoy throughout the season.  Recently, the show celebrated its 2 millionth visitor with a surprise performance by the Philly POPS Festival Brass and a special giveaway for audience members to celebrate in this milestone.

The Comcast Holiday Spectacular is shown on the 83’ x 25’ Comcast Experience video wall — one of the world’s largest, high resolution LED displays. Over the last ten seasons, the show has been updated with several new scenes.  In 2014, closed captions and audio descriptions were also added making the show available to the widest possible audience.

The show can be seen at the top of each hour 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM at Comcast Center in Philadelphia (1701 John F. Kennedy Blvd.) through New Year’s Day.
