XFINITY Launches Dedicated Online Destination for the LGBT Community

Philadelphia, PA.

In addition, all HERE TV On Demand content will be available for free to Xfinity TV digital customers for the first week of June.

Comcast, a global media and technology company, today announced the launch of Xfinity.com/LGBT, an online portal that brings together a wealth of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) entertainment content, from a variety of sources in one, easy to navigate location. In addition, all HERE TV content on Xfinity On Demand and online will be available for free to Xfinity TV digital customers to enjoy during the first week of June.

The Xfinity LGBT website features blogs and Xfinity TV programming information that are especially meaningful for the LGBT community and valuable to all users. Content on the site includes viewing suggestions, links to films, TV series, documentaries, bios, and music featuring LGBT entertainers, artists and historical figures who have made strong contributions to the arts, music and history. Visitors, including non-subscribers, can also check Xfinity.com/LGBT for the latest news, slideshows of popular LGBT entertainers and celebrities, global Gay Pride celebrations and more.

"Xfinity is proud to offer a unique and welcoming online destination, specifically designed for the LGBT community, making relevant content much easier to find, watch and enjoy," said Ruben Mendiola, vice president and general manager of Multicultural Video Services. "Building on the success of last year’s launch of a permanent LGBT folder on Xfinity On Demand, this new site will give customers additional access to even more choices with more ways to watch LGBT content year-round both on TV and online."

Separately, also to celebrate Pride Month, Xfinity TV customers will gain access to special programming across multiple platforms – TV, On Demand, online and on mobile devices – now through June 30. Xfinity’s special Pride Collection includes award-winning movies, biographical films, documentaries, TV shows, specials and interviews. On Demand TV content can be accessed at a special Pride Month folder as well as the permanent LGBT destination folder launched last year.
