The United States Environmental Protection Agency recognizes Comcast-Spectacor with a plaque acknowledging the company’s extraordinary commitment to protecting the environment at the company’s flagship arena, the Wells Fargo Center during a brief a off-the-ice presentation.

The Wells Fargo Center became the first National Hockey League and National Basketball Association arena to feature an LED lightingsystem, which is more efficient, durable, and longer lasting. More than 25,000 LEDS have been installed which create a visually-pleasing experience for sports fans and also reduces energy consumption by 66 percent compared to the prior system.

As an Energy Star partner, Comcast-Spectacor also recycles 70 percent of the used aluminum cans, bottles and other recyclables generated from concessions, and uses compostable service ware in all concessions. Plus, a "Farm to Fan" stand offers locally-sourced produce for healthy eating options.

Comcast-Spectacor institutes similar energy-conserving initiatives at the more than 125 other venues in which the company operates throughout North America.
