Richard Schollmann Named Vice President State Government Affairs for Comcast Cable

Philadelphia, PA.

Comcast today announced that Richard Schollmann has joined the company as Vice President, State Government Affairs in Washington, DC. Schollmann is primarily responsible for implementing and coordinating Comcast Cable's state-level government affairs initiatives and reports to Kerry Knott, Comcast Corporation Vice President of Government Affairs.

Schollmann previously served as President, Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (VCTA), where he was been responsible for representing the interests of Virginia's cable operators before the state legislature, regulatory commission and other state-level governmental entities. Schollmann also served as State Director of Government Affairs for American Electric Power and, before that, held the same position with AT&T. He has also been a regulatory attorney with AT&T, a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and is a retired Marine Corps officer.

Schollmann, 47, received a B.A. from the University of Rochester, New York, and J.D. from Catholic University's Columbus School of Law. Schollmann lives in the Metro Richmond, VA area with his wife and their two sons.
