NBCUniversal 'Greens Up' To Celebrate 10 Years of Green Is Universal
Philadelphia, PA.
This year all NBCUniversal brands will be rallying around the theme of "green up" to celebrate the 10th annual Green is Universal Earth Week celebration. To raise awareness of Earth Week and promote sustainability with the message that even minor changes can affect the planet on a larger scale, NBCUniversal will be "greening up" across the whole portfolio including television, digital, studio and theme parks with green logos, messaging and branding.
Throughout Earth Week, NBCUniversal will demonstrate how everyone can make a difference and how even small habit changes can have a great impact on the planet. In addition to daily social media #greenup tips, there will also be a variety of activities including blog posts, Twitter chats and green-related segments across linear and digital platforms. Videos from the iconic NBCUniversal "The More You Know" campaign will also be running across various platforms.
NBCUniversal is making a commitment to sustainability across the entire company. The Green is Universal initiative is focused on bringing an environmental perspective to everything from informing and entertaining our audiences to driving more sustainable practices for our businesses. The Green is Universal initiative translates NBCUniversal’s environmental commitment into action. It identifies ways to integrate sustainability across the brands, in front of the camera as well as behind it. Whether identifying opportunities for energy savings and innovation in production and distribution, educating consumers via environmentally themed programming, reducing the carbon footprint of products, or activating and engaging within the workforce, NBCUniversal is hard at work mobilizing our assets to protect the planet.
