Four Global Spectrum-Managed Facilities Rank High Among Nation's Top Performing University Arenas

Company fills venues with high-quality entertainment.

Four Global Spectrum-managed venues are among the nation’s highest grossing university facilities for 2014, according to Venues Today, a nationally distributed magazine focusing on the sports and entertainment industry. The charts, which cover the period of December 1, 2013, through November 30, 2014, were published in the February 2015 issue.

Global Spectrum is a Comcast-Spectacor affiliated company, which operates more than 125 arenas, stadiums and convention centers throughout the world, including 24 university venues. Global Spectrum facilities annually present more than 15,000 events, and reach attendance numbers in excess of 24 million.

The Chaifetz Arena on the campus of Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO, and the USF Sun Dome on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, are ranked third and fifth, respectively in the 10,001-15,000-seat university venues.

Chaifetz Arena drew 88,248 visitors to 29 events (not including sports events), grossing $3,637,605. The 29 events atChaifetz Arena were more than any other venue listed in this category. The USF Sun Dome attracted 54,895 visitors to 17 events, grossing $1,880,332.

The Ted Constant Convocation Center on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and the CFE Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL, ranked fourth and fifth respectively in the 5,001-10,000–seat capacity.

The Constant Center hosted 65,016 visitors to 19 events, grossing $1,887,525, while the CFE Arena attracted 45,557 to 19 events, grossing $1,581,227.

Many of the world’s top-touring acts performed in a Global Spectrum-managed university facility in 2014, including four-time Grammy-Award winner Sam Smith; Grammy-Award nominee Ed Sheeran; Demi Lovato; Lady Antebellum; Darius Rucker; Imagine Dragons; James Taylor, the Harlem Globetrotters, WWE and many others.
