Comcast's Third Annual `Comcast Cares Day' Unites 25,000 Employees and Their Families Across 33 States in Service to Local Communities

150,000 Volunteer Hours is the Equivalent of More Than 17 Years of Service in

25,000 Comcast employees and their families participated in 228 volunteer projects in 33 states as a part of the largest one-day volunteer effort in the company's history - the third annual Comcast Cares Day held Saturday, October 4, 2003. In total, Comcast employees and their families donated 150,000 hours of volunteer service - the equivalent of more than 17 years of service in one day.

Comcast Cares Day is a company-wide day of service in which Comcast employees and their families volunteer on the same day in their local communities. Local Comcast management and local community leaders identified non-profit partner organizations to address specific local needs. Comcast's employee volunteers represented every sector of the company from its corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, to its local cable offices and including the company's content businesses: CN8, Comcast Spectacor, Comcast SportsNet, E! Entertainment Television, The Golf Channel, Outdoor Life Network and G4.

"Comcast Cares Day is about our employees' commitment to the neighborhoods and towns where they live and work; the very same communities that Comcast is proud to serve," said Brian L. Roberts, President and CEO, Comcast. "I am pleased that Comcast employees in each one of our local communities across the country have demonstrated that commitment again this year."

The Comcast Foundation will also contribute grants totaling up to a million dollars to the 228 partner organizations on behalf of each employee and family member who volunteered on Comcast Cares Day. These partner grants are to help Comcast's community partners continue their mission throughout the year.

In addition to Comcast Cares Day, Comcast employees volunteer year-round with a variety of projects and organizations through the company's ComcastCares program. For more information on Comcast's volunteer and community investment initiatives, visit In The Community at www.Comcast.com.
