Comcast Promotes Sarah Gitchell and David Marcus to Vice President, Deputy General Counsel

Comcast Cable Communications, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, announced today that it has promoted Sarah Gitchell and David Marcus to Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Comcast Cable. With these promotions, Ms. Gitchell becomes Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Counsel, Content Acquisition, and Mr. Marcus becomes Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Patent Counsel.

Shortly after joining Comcast in 2005, Ms. Gitchell became the lead attorney for the company's Content Acquisition group, providing legal support for programming and retransmission consent agreements for all Comcast cable systems and for new media rights and strategic multiplatform initiatives. She received a Juris Doctorate degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Marcus, who joined Comcast in 2007, is responsible for legal support on all patent-related matters, including litigation, and works closely with the company's Strategic IP group. Before attending law school, he was a Lieutenant and Submarine Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. He's a member of the American Bar Association and also serves as editor-at-large for the IP Litigation Section's quarterly publication. Mr. Marcus received his Juris Doctorate degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Moravian College in Bethlehem and is a graduate of the United States Navy's Nuclear Engineering Program.
