Comcast Promotes Melanie Penna to Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast Cable
Comcast Cable, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services, announced today that it has promoted Melanie Penna to Senior Vice President of Human Resources Service Delivery for Comcast Cable. Ms. Penna leads the HR Operations team responsible for the strategy and ongoing development of the SAP Human Capital Management (SAP HCM) system and oversees human resources for many of the company's key business functions. She reports to William Strahan, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of Comcast Cable.

"She always leads by example and tackles every project with strategic insight while consistently delivering exceptional results."
Ms. Penna joined Comcast in 1995 and was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources in 1999. Over the years, she assumed increased responsibilities, including partnering with senior leadership to ensure that the HR function aligns with and supports company business objectives by overseeing due diligence, transition strategy, communications, and the implementation of mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Comcast, Ms. Penna was responsible for employee relations issues at Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation (AHERF) and handled compensation issues at Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania. Before her career in Human Resources, she was a member of the litigation team at Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis and a member of the labor and employment team at Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen.
Ms. Penna is a member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications, Inc. (WICT), where she served on the Executive Committee and on the National Board as Chair. In 2004, she was an inaugural recipient of the WICT - Philadelphia Liberty Award, and in 2005, received the Young Executive of Distinction Award by the Pyramid Club Young Executives Committee. She is also a member of Cable & Telecommunications' Human Resources Association, Society for Human Resources Management, Professional Women's Roundtable, and a the Forum of Executive Women in both Delaware and Philadelphia. Ms. Penna is a member of the Leadership Advisory Boards at Springfield College and at Neumann College where she is also a guest lecturer in their adult education program.
Ms. Penna received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh where she also specialized in Labor Relations and Personnel Management.
