Comcast, NBCUniversal and First Announce 2014 Media & Technology Innovation Award Winner
Comcast, NBCUniversal and FIRST® have announced San Diego, CA based "The Holy Cows" (FRC Team 1538) as the recipient of the 2014 Media & Technology Innovation Award, sponsored by Comcast and NBCUniversal. Presented at the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, MO, this award recognizes a FIRST team that develops and implements an outstanding digital experience and marketing strategy to help their team in fundraising and in sharing the FIRST mission of encouraging science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education with others.
FIRST designs accessible, innovative programs to build self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology, and engineering. FIRST annually hosts the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC® ) for students in Grades 9-12; FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC® ) for Grades 7-12; FIRST® LEGO®League (FLL® ) for Grades 4-8; and Junior FIRST® LEGO® League (Jr.FLL®) for Grades K-3.
