Comcast Names Rachel L. Cohen Senior Director of Public Policy and External Affairs

Comcast Corporation, the nation's leading provider of cable and entertainment services, today announced the promotion of Rachel L. Cohen to Senior Director of Public Policy and External Affairs.
Cohen will have continued responsibility for the development and execution of external affairs and public policy strategies for the company. She reports to Joe Waz, Vice President of External Affairs and Public Policy.
"Rachel has been a great asset to our External Affairs team," said Waz. "Her campaign and organizational skills and her ability to translate policy goals into action have been key in helping us to retain our ability to invest, innovate and compete in a rapidly changing world."
Prior to joining Comcast in 2004 as Director of Public Policy and External Affairs, Cohen served on campaign leadership teams for Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street and U.S. Congressional candidate Joe Torsella. She also practiced commercial litigation and government relations at major Philadelphia law firms, including Buchanan Ingersoll Professional Corporation and Mesirov, Gelman, Jaffe, Cramer & Jamieson.
Cohen holds a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars and a board member of the Philadelphia Commercial Development Corporation, the Mural Arts Program, the Association for Independent Growth and Operation Understanding. She also serves as Secretary and a member of the board of the Comcast Corporation Political Action Committees. She resides in Philadelphia.
