Comcast Names Neil Smit Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Cable Communications

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA, CMCSK), one of the world's leading media, entertainment and communications companies, announced today it has named Neil Smit Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Cable Communications. Mr. Smit, who also serves as President of Comcast Cable and is responsible for all aspects of the company's cable business, joined Comcast in March 2010. He reports to Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Corporation.

Mr. Smit joined Comcast from Charter Communications where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Director from 2005-2010. Prior to Charter, he was President of Time Warner's America Online Access Business overseeing America Online (AOL), CompuServe and Netscape ISPs. He also served at AOL as Executive Vice President, Member Services, and Chief Operating Officer of MapQuest. Before that, Mr. Smit was a regional president with Nabisco and served in a number of management positions at Pillsbury. For five and a half years, he served on active duty with the Navy SEALS Teams and retired from the service as a Lieutenant Commander.
